This is how it feels to be one of eleven uprooted Aussies hunting the elusive rock and roll dream in Manchester. For the better part of a year we’ve made music, partied hard and built new lives in the great, grey north. A Blank Canvas is a platform for Canvas Sounds artists and associates to let you all in on our ongoing story – the struggles, the setbacks and the little victories that come with restarting a label and establishing acts in a city already awash with talent. It’s often worthwhile to keep a scrapbook for ideas – to record efforts, collate memories and test fresh colours. After almost a year, we’re finally ready to paint you some pictures.
 
So Canvas Sounds is an indie music label. Seven of us are signed to the label (FAIRCHILD, Calan Mai & Lyon Apprentice). One of us runs the label. One of us makes sure we all have fun. One of us make sure we don’t have too much fun.
